It just wouldn't be right for us to claim all of the glory of Haardvark
("the rank outsider", as the commentator put it in Series 2). There
are many people that helped, too many to list here, but if you're one
of them - THANK YOU!
Special mentions:
Support - without these people, none of this would have
happened:
Mrs Barwick (Owen's wife) - For the original comment that got us into
this and the subsequent help (and never-ending food!)
Julia Richards - For the support and encouragement.
Nigel Marston - for the loan of a garage, good tips and friendship.
Dave & Heather Barwick - thanks for the use of your garage and house
while you were away!
Rex Garrod - for the bits and pieces and the technical advice (oh -
and for trashing our robot in series 2!)
Dave Garnowski - for more vital bits and pieces.
Money
Lucas Aerospace invested £1000 in our team's "personal development",
and donated a further sum for the re-development for series 3. Thanks
Nick, Aiden and Alison.
Metalworking
For time and effort above and beyond the call of duty in making shafts
and other bits & pieces: Thanks Trev Tyler, Malcom Perks, Jeff Coles,
Pete Wilding.
And for time and effort, (and using Haardvark as part of their apprenticeship
training!): Laura Appleby, Mark Jack and Laura Manifold.
Motors
Thanks to Charlie & Sue at "Ideas in Action Mobility Centre", and Scope.
Pneumatics
Thanks to SMC Pneumatics - Gary Lamsdale.
Weapons
Thanks to John Avery at Wolferal for the huge and damaging friction
saw.
If we've missed you out it's not deliberate - send us an email and
I'll update this... Owen
